Once the suspension shows up all we need for the Impreza to rally is cage, seats and harnesses. We’ll be setting up a cage appointment for late Winter or early Spring. After that, minimal additional gear will be installed (fire extinguishers, stainless steel brake lines, hood pins, trunk springs, etc.).

KATU 2 Trunk Monkey News Report
PORTLAND – If you’ve ever been the victim of road rage on Portland’s freeways you might be able to relate to a new commercial being shot in Portland.
“Jonah” a monkey actor takes the stage in a trunk of a car. In the scenes being shot in Portland he is otherwise known as the Trunk Monkey.
In the commercial, when the driver of the car is victimized by “road rage” the monkey pops the trunk and hops out and starts shaking a crowbar at the offending driver.
The Suburban Auto Group is producing the commercial, which obviously is intended to be a tongue-in-check representation of road rage.

Maine Forest Winter ClubRally
I made the trek up to Maine Forest Winter ClubRally to crew for Rocky Road Racing on Saturday and run the rallycross on Sunday. Final results have’t been posted yet but I was fighting for a podium finish all morning until a spin in the afternoon on my fifth run cost me ten seconds and an eighth place finish.
Maine Forest Winter Rally!
This weekend they will once again run the Maine Forest Winter Rally! Last run in 1996, this club rally uses many of the same roads as the Maine Forest Pro Rally held at the end of July every year.
After a change in schedule, it looks like I will be able to make it up there myself.
The rally is on Saturday, and there is a rallycross on Sunday at the same location they held it this summer.

Pine Barrens Express
Andrew and I ran the Pine Barrens Express TSD yesterday and placed 2nd in Class N. Updates and writeup coming eventually.
Rallycar!
Andrew and I will be competing at the Pine Barrens Express TSD this coming weekend, working the Maine Forest Winter ClubRally (Andrew will be stage crew and I’ll be crewing for Rocky Road Racing) on December 7th and then competing at the Maine Forest Winter Rallycross on December 8th. We have an interesting two weeks cut out for us!
Belated Repairs
The car went into Exeter for service a couple weeks ago and got new rear seals, rear access plate, flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing and a ClutchNet six puck sprung copper racing clutch. The clutch pedal is now an on/off switch.
Coverd Bridge TSD Rally and Rallycross
Trunkmonkey Racing attended the Covered Bridge TSD Rally and Rallycross that took place this past weekend in Killington, VT. Results and event writeup will be posted eventually.
Temporary Mutt Suspension
Many thanks go out to Craig for donating his stock Impreza 2.5 RS struts to Trunkmonkey Racing! Brian, Kris, Andrew and I successfully finished the strut installation with stock Impreza L springs late Wednesday evening in preparation for the Covered Bridge TSD and Rallycross coming up this weekend. The springs and perches haven’t settled yet so the car is currently sitting at monster truck height.
